Welcome back guys, so soon I know but I’m trying to be as consistent as I can be!

Aforementioned I really wanted to get this Grace Series out by the end of the month so here it is. Just a quick note before we proceed any further, I would really appreciate feedback because you know as they say feedback is the breakfast of champions and I just want to keep progressing as opposed to regressing so yeah I would love to hear a few criticisms etc or just things you love / want to keep seeing more of! Anyway, let’s get right into where we left off.

Yep, so I spent a lot of the previous post speaking on Grace but I forgot to actually go into Mercy (sorry merc), having said that it isn’t something in which it should be overlooked. I love Mercy because I genuinely believe it’s paramount to the way we perceive and accept God’s Grace. You have to accept God as a merciful God then you can begin to even think about having this “Grace mindset”, upon hindsight that seems like no task at all, until you realise what mercy entails. Mercy is commonly associated with forgiveness and compassion, if we look at this definition here:

Whilst this is all true, in a Christian context you have to accept all of these claims as true but to be able to do that you have to try and apply it to yourself, which involves an element of self re-evaluation. Do I accept this forgivenes? Do I accept this compassion? Do I act as if I accept this forgiveness? Do I believe that God has the power to punish and harm me but he chose not to because he loves me?

I’m not even going to lie to you, this is all something in which I still continue to find so daunting and difficult to actually understand because it’s not love in anyway I’ve seen before but what I will say and what I will always continue to say is that: “Grace you can’t accept something you don’t know or you don’t truly understand”- especially as we can’t always hear God or see him so the next best thing is to read the word and see what that has to say!

The Grace Mindset, is that he covers it all. He secures it all. He worries about the part that I have the most anxiety about. It’s because of his love. It‘s the mindset that says we should be living like God is doing what we’re waiting for. So today I urge you to take courage and hold on. I’m not sure what it is that’s on your heart that you’re believing God for but he’s already done it. The grace mindset is understanding that God is literally just waiting for you to wholeheartedly put your trust in him. This verse has been resonating with me for a while so I thought I’d share it with you guys!! 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Just remember you’re strong, not by your own doing but it’s because the greater one lives inside of you. God is working in you in ways that you can’t imagine, literally in ways we can’t even fathom. Don’t block your blessings by letting fear consume your every action ! Literally surrender everything you have to him and slowly, day by day he’ll replace your fear with faith. So today boast about whatever your weakness is, not because you’re able to pattern it on your own but because JC died on the cross and it’s only by his grace and mercy we’re here. Live life expectant!!! Living life expectant of what he can do for you and that understanding Victory is yours because of this Grace. He died on the cross for us, not for us to take it for granted but so that we can sit in victory.

The best way to illustrate this Mercy is to explain it as God not judging us or punishing us regardless of the fact he has every reason to do so. In preparation for this blog, I read somewhere that “Grace is when God gives us what we don’t deserve. Mercy is when God doesnt give us what we do deserve.” This to me unites the two concepts and it’s so beautiful to really understand it because the beauty of Grace is that it doesn’t stand alone but it is intertwined with Gods mercy, God giving us victory, Gods love and most importantly us being able to have faith in who God is and the plan he has for our life.
